What is it?
Wrinkle relaxing injections (Botox injections) is the name given to the purified protein Botulinum Toxin type A (popularly known by one of its trade names, Botox) and was originally used to treat neurological disorders. It has now become licensed to treat patients for cosmetic procedures, principally the reduction in facial lines, especially frown lines, crows feet and forehead lines.
It can also be used to treat excessive sweating in the armpits, forehead or hands as it also blocks the nerves that supply the sweat glands.
How does it work?
It temporarily prevents the release of acetylcholine from sympathetic nerve terminals.
The injection relaxes facial muscles resulting in a smoothing of the skin and a softening of the expression. Frown lines, crows feet and forehead wrinkles can all be dramatically reduced by injecting tiny amounts of injections with a very fine needle.

The consultation
A thorough medical history will be taken during the consultation, to ensure you can be safely treated with wrinkle relaxing injections. Consultations are carried out at Andrea’s home address or her 5 surrounding clinics across Hampshire.
Alternatively for those unable to travel home visits can be offered. The entire procedure takes approximately 10 minutes and discomfort is minimal and brief.
You may resume normal activity immediately. There may be slight redness following treatment but this generally resolves within an hour.
The Results
Wrinkle relaxing injections works anything from day two after your procedure or up to the full 14 days. A review appointment will be arranged after 14 days to ensure you are delighted with the results.
Results should last up to 4 months and longer in patients who have had wrinkle relaxing injections regularly.
Dermal fillers can be used in conjunction with wrinkle relaxing injections.
